Open Athlete Network

Editorial policy

Open Athlete Network aims to make writing about athletic connection clear, fair and useful. We explain what we can support, correct mistakes openly and keep editorial decisions distinct from commercial arrangements.

Accuracy and clarity

We check names, terminology and factual claims against suitable sources when a piece requires them, and make uncertainty clear rather than smoothing it away. Articles should distinguish established information from interpretation, avoid unsupported generalisations and provide enough context for readers to understand the point being made.

Independence and corrections

Editorial choices are made for readers, not to satisfy a partner or promote a product. If a material error is brought to our attention, we review it and correct it where appropriate, with an explanation when the change affects the meaning. Readers can send corrections through the Contact page.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid or partner-supported material is identified clearly where it appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial control. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when relevant, that use is disclosed and imagery is not presented as documentary evidence.

Our point of view

Sport is shaped by who is beside you

Athletic life is not only an individual pursuit. We look at the relationships and communities that make room for people to learn from one another and belong.
